The book Masala was born as we travelled for five weeks through India from Kerala in the south to Darjeeling in the north. We visited luxury hotels in Calcutta, vineyards outside Bombay, street grills in Delhi, forts in Rajasthan and private family dinners. We were in kitchens everywhere and got tips directly from the Indian chefs on how and which foods to prepare as they cooked their dishes.
I wrote recipes, collected facts on food and spices and did the graphic design of the book. Håkan Elofsson took all of the fabulous pictures, Jane Magnusson wrote the travel stories, Susanne Rolf managed the project and the food images.
